Some folks wonder why I spend so much time online or why I don't talk more or go out and do stuff. So I try every now and then to do something different, and I'm reminded why I don't bother. Nobody, save a tiny handful, give two shits what I do. I could die tomorrow, and most of the people I "know" would hardly notice. Reaching out to people just leads to getting hurt. When no one invites you, you invite them, and they decline without a word. So be it. I don't want to hear any psychobabble BS in response to this. I'm writing this for me. If you're reading it, I'm surprised. If I'm upsetting you, well... get a load of me. I'm not all sunshine n roses. Go figure. I bet you aren't either. I get depressed, and I usually don't bother to tell anyone. I'm just having a pity party. Don't worry. I'll get over it and be back to my old cheery self. Never you worry.

Message from CristinTX:
We went to the fireworks show in Frisco, TX this year. We caught a few photos, though many are blurry. The payoff is the short videos near the end of the set of 20 images. I hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day! I just wanted to share this with you all. I know not everyone got to see/do something so awesome on this great holiday. I love you all; God bless you! - Cristin (and Bruce) Boydstun

Driving the Speed Limit Saves You Money!
The U.S. Department of Energy estimates that, for every
5 mph you drive over 60 mph, the decreased fuel efficiency is the equivalent of paying a $0.20 surcharge on each gallon. That adds up!

It's kind of old, but I found it on Digg. How are we supposed to trust ANYBODY. Yeah, we have the FDA and stuff to be protect us, but we created many of the corporate giants that are doing this shit to begin with. If you spent too much time thinking about all of this, you'd end up in one of those little white padded rooms.

Sinful? Sure.
Worthy of execution? Not so much.

I have an appt with my dentist 10am on Tuesday to discuss what we needto do to my teeth, how it can be covered by my ins, and how much it'sgoing to end up costing me. I need to be sedated for cleaning andfillings, and I need surgery to keep the muscle in my bottom lip frompulling the gums away from my teeth. Yay me!
I have an appt with my regular doc at 3pm on Tuesday to hopefully get back on Effexor XR. Wish me luck with this, because I really really really need some help not feeling crazy!

Ok. See here. My cardiologist, who says my heart is "healthy and strong", thank you very much, recommended the Sugar Busters! "diet". She said she used it, in part, to lose some weight. And comparing her in person to the pic on the hospital's website, she definitely lost some, however she did it. At any rate, I got myself a copy of the Sugar Busters! book and it makes sense and I'm jumping into that with both feet. Except for the damned brownie I ate on my way out the door earlier. I need to give that box of sugarfood away or something. Really.
When I went in for my cardiology checkup, about a week and a half ago, they also ordered bloodwork for wellness and thyroid to make sure it wasn't helping me get/stay fat. One week ago today, I had blood drawn after not eating breakfast. I got the results out of my mailbox today, with the words "looks good" and my Dr's initials on it. However, my HDL is still low, and my LDL is still high. My triglycerides are at the highest acceptable marker. Just to make sure I wasn't confused and this was a good thing, I asked one of the trainers at the gym when I went in today. Turns out I'm not crazy, and my cholesterol really isn't in great shape. For all the small changes I've made "here and there" in the past 4 years or so, I haven't accomplished much. In fact, I got fatter.
So I talked to this nice trainer girl, and she told me all kinds of stuff. More than any doctor has ever bothered to about how to fix the situation. My intention was to do the same workout I always do, if you can call it that. 20 minutes on a recumbent bike, with my target heart rate set for 130. Well, this girlie seems to think I need to work out for about 45 minutes with a target heart rate of 150, and not seated. I told her about my ankle issues and the fact that my feet turn in, and she said she could "fix that" "easy" too. She also strongly recommended a heat rate monitor, because she says the handle grip monitors on the machines aren't very reliable. Ok.
I got on an elliptical type contraption and set out to try 45 minutes at 150HR. Boy howdy! I thought I MIGHT just make it, but I broke down and started crying about 25 minutes into it. This just is not very seemly, so I got off and went home. I'm writing all of this down before getting in the shower. That's another something new. I have some pretty non-awesome habits. This will be the first time I've take a shower two days in a row in God only knows how long. Yeah, that's embarrassing, but it's better if I embarrass myself than somebody else do it, and maybe it'll help me improve.
Here's the rub. If I want her to be my trainer, it would cost $79 per hour, and she'd want me 3 times per week at 1 hour each, and for at least two months. I just do not have that kind of money. There's not even another part of the "budget" to borrow it from. I just don't have it. I suppose I could "save up" and then pay for it all at once, get the sessions, and go. That is going to take a long time, and I'm already saving up money for something else - tires for my husband's truck to ensure his safety. And the cheapest Polar HR monitor they sell there would be appx $120 with tax and stuff. I don't have that right now either.
So... Anybody want to donate to Cristin's Live Longer Fund?
